All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies. – Psalm 25:10
When we think things are going well, it can often be quite easy to enumerate the ways that we experience God’s loves and faithfulness. We can count the good gifts that God has given us and give thanks for the expressions of His kindness. However, as Psalm 25:10 reminds us, all of the paths that God places His children on are expressions of His abiding love and His faithful presence. This includes the difficult paths, the painful paths, the joyous paths, the easy-to-traverse paths, and the paths that seem entirely uphill. When we are following our merciful God, we can expect to experience His goodness even when our circumstances are hard. May we walk after wherever He leads, knowing that as we do so, every road we are on is the path of His faithfulness and love.
