Who is the man who fears the Lord? Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose. – Psalm 25:12
When a Christian is faced with a difficult decision, it is common for them to express that they wish they knew what God wanted them to do. Choosing between two good options is especially difficult. When neither path is unbiblical and when both have their advantages, internal turmoil and conflict can be the result. We want to do what God wants; we just don’t know what that is.
Isn’t it encouraging then to read in Psalm 25:12 that there is a person who God will instruct in what he should do? This person is the one who fears the Lord. When we rightly revere and honor God, He will guide us to the path that He has planned. When He is our priority and we commit to follow wherever He leads, we can have confidence that we are walking in His way. We might not even know where the road will take us, but we can boldly go down it, trusting that He will wisely instruct us in the way that glorifies Him.
There will be many times in life when we don’t know which path we should choose. When that is the case, may we diligently pursue and honor our Heavenly Father, knowing that as we do so, He will provide all the direction that we need.
