I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. – Psalm 34:1
Sometimes I think we skip over the emphatic words in Scripture because we don’t really want to be held to the high standards that they set. In this verse, the Psalmist doubly emphasizes how our mouths should be filled with words that give glory to God. Regardless of our circumstances or the concerns of our heart – our lips should be uttering expressions of God’s goodness and grace. Over and over again, at every time of day in every season, may the words that spring forth from our mouth be ones of praise to our ever good and always gracious King. May our lips be filled with adoration of and thanksgiving to the One who provides all that we need.
