Bits & Pieces (9/26/12)

The Brain is More Like A Muscle Than a Shoebox – Why should kids learn Latin? Here’s at least one reason.

Jesus is the King of Kings – “The lordship of Jesus is not simply a hope of Christians that someday might be realized; it is a truth that has already taken place. It is the task of the church to bear witness to that invisible kingdom, or as Calvin put it, it is the task of the church to make the invisible kingdom of Christ visible. Though invisible, it is nevertheless real.”

You Can’t Catch Sin Like a Cold – “We don’t “catch” sin. It’s in us from birth. We are sin carriers. It’s only by the grace of God that we can become immune to the virus that lives in us, that we can live a life without its symptoms oozing and coughing and exhaling out of us onto others, not to infect them but to influence them.” (H/T)

A “Housekeeping” Note

Some of you may have noticed changes on the blog recently. I’ve been trying to work on consistency so that people can more easily locate the site. Hence, the masthead now says “nawinter.com” rather than simply “Better Things Ahead.” I have updated my feed as well, so those of you who subscribe via Google Reader or other feed aggregator may notice that instead of being listed under “Better Things Ahead” it is switched to “N.A. Winter.”  You should still be subscribed, but since most feed aggregators are organized alphabetically, you may need to look further down the list to find this blog’s updates. I just wanted to let you know so that it (hopefully) reduces any confusion.

As always, I welcome your feedback. Let me know what you think of the changes or if you have any problems getting the updates!
Thank you!

N.A. Winter
